Introduction to Price List
For those of you who have visited our gardens, you know the beds are divided into two sections separated by a dry creek bed (locally known as “the ditch”). On the left side of “the ditch” are the doubles, spiders, unusual forms and newer (or more popular) introductions. On the right side of “the ditch” are the $5.00 beds—eleven beds each measuring 60’ X 8’ and loaded with tons of high quality plants. This is the center of my local market—folks who are simply looking for color for their garden. And for the second year in a row, we have a ton of spiders and unusual forms in these beds.
We continue to introduce for Geraldine Couturier, spider and unusual forms expert from Knoxville, TN (originally from Michigan). She doesn’t have any new introductions this year, but she is growing on three or four plants with plans to introduce them next year.
Mick and Lanny Morry, our Canadian friends at www.AvaloniaDaylilies.com continue to send us their future introductions to grow for increase. We’re honored to serve as their USA Test Garden and handle all of their sales if you live in the United States. If you live in Canada or elsewhere, Mick and Lanny will process your order from their garden in Canada. This arrangement saves our customers the expense of a phyto certificate—and we’re all about saving you money!
The Morrys will not introduce anything new for spring 2011. Instead, they tell me they want to concentrate on giving people an opportunity to purchase their 2009 and 2010 Introductions at 40% to 60% off the retail price and then bust the doors wide open the following year with several ruffled, neon beauties that will blow you away.
While they last, Mick and Lanny Morry’s plants (more fully described in our Price List or at www.AvaloniaDaylilies.com) are available as follows (double fan minimum):
These plants were all bred in Canada and grow well from there all the way to Florida! For more detailed information on these and futures by the Morry family, check out www.AvaloniaDaylilies.com. We grow quite a few of their “Futures”. If you see something you like, ask us. Mick and Lanny might release one for you. You’ll never know if you don’t ask!
Thanks for your continued support. We have 1200 to 1500 walk-in garden visitors during bloom season. We hope you’re one of them! Peak bloom is around the 2nd to 3rd week in June. Bring your camera and take home a memory!
Each year during July and August, we strip all of our daylily beds and re-line plants. The excessive heat and humidity during the summer months makes it risky to ship plants and guarantee that they will arrive in the best condition, so we mainly concentrate on spring shipping.
The web site is updated each year in September with new inventory in the Price List (just click on the name of the cultivar and a photo will appear in most cases).
