DIRECTIONS TO DELANO DAYLILIES
(Printable and with Map)

To save yourself time and aggravation, you are advised to stay away from the directions given by MapQuest. If you follow MapQuest, you’ll end up about 30 minutes away on roads that are unmarked and known only by our locals.

The following map is provided by the Tennessee Overhill Heritage Association, our local tourism organization, at www.tennesseeoverhill.com. It will get you within 3/10 mile of the gardens. Many thanks to TOHA for allowing us to use their map.

Delano Daylilies is located 3/10 mile off Highway 411 about halfway between Etowah and Benton—approximately a five minute drive to either town.

If you’re traveling South, go through Etowah and continue South on Hwy 411 for approximately 4.5 miles. When you reach the Conasauga Creek Bridge, you’ll be able to see the Huber chemical plant on your left and a small subdivision on your right. Take the first right after crossing over the Conasauga Creek Bridge. That will be County Road 859. Then immediately (within 15 feet) turn left onto County Road 854. If you go over the Railroad Overpass Bridge on Highway 411, you’ve gone too far! The gardens are located 3/10 mile down County Road 854 on your left. There’s a sign by our mailbox. Just look for the blue metal roofs on our house (a gray A-frame) and the pavilion located behind the house. You’ll drive down in the hollow and park behind the pavilion by the daylily fields. You won’t be able to see the daylily fields from the road.

If you’re traveling North, continue through Benton on Highway 411 past Benton Shooters’ Supply. When you reach the Hiwassee River Bridge, you’re within 3.2 miles of the gardens. You’ll pass the Delano Post Office, the Mr. Zip Convenience Store and Wetmore Baptist Church. A short distance later, you’ll see the Dollar General store. We’re the next left after the Dollar General. When you pass over the Railroad Overpass Bridge on Highway 411, turn immediately to your left onto County Road 859. Then make another immediate turn onto County Road 854. If you cross the Conasauga Creek Bridge on Highway 411, you’ve gone too far. Your exit onto County Road 859 is within 15-20 feet of the Railroad Overpass Bridge and your turn onto County Road 854 is in another 15-20 feet. Be alert! We’re 3/10 mile down County Road 854 on your left. There’s a sign by our mailbox. Just look for the blue metal roofs on our house (a gray A-frame) and the pavilion located behind the house. You’ll drive down in the hollow and park behind the pavilion by the daylily fields. You won’t be able to see the daylily fields from the road.
